My name is Alisha and I am Driving Test Success’ Content & Engagement Executive! A huge part of my role is coming up with new and exciting concepts for our social channels, which include our TikTok channel. Our channel recently hit 1 million followers so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to look back through the journey of our channel.
Where it all began
Let’s go back to lockdown 2020, when just like the rest of the UK, the DTS Team were all working from home and adjusting to the ‘new norm’. Lauren, our previous Social Media Executive, was presented with the challenge to find new ways of educating our learners despite lessons and tests being ground to a halt!
TikTok was the up and coming platform at the time and it absolutely took the world by storm so, Lauren jumped on the bandwagon and started making content for our learner drivers! We started by sharing tips and tricks for both your Theory and Practical Test, but we also wanted to make it a fun place for learning and highlight the struggles we all face.
DTS never expected to get the reception that we did, but we are extremely grateful for the massive amount of support and growth we saw from the get go! Since then, TikTok became a huge part of the business and, although she has moved on to another role now, we are extremely grateful to Lauren, we definitely couldn’t have reached the big 1,000,000 without her hard work!
A bit about me
Now, a bit about me and why I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a reason…
Fast forward to September 2021, I applied for a job in the marketing team here at DTS. But, 2 years before starting my role here, I was sharing my own learner journey on social media. It was one of the most challenging times in my life, and definitely didn’t come easy, but sharing my struggles and eventual achievements with other learners really helped me not to give up, and little did I know, this would also help me secure my dream job at DTS!
Since getting the job, I have learnt so much about the driving industry. Having struggled myself, I instantly felt connected to the cause and made it my duty to support others through fun and educational content! Since my first day, my main goal was to hit 1 million followers and, with the help of an amazing marketing team, we managed to do it!
Of course, we want to give a special shout out to the amazing ADIs and creators that we’ve collaborated with over the past year. Not only have they offered their time, but also their expertise and knowledge to help and educate our learners. We are so excited to work with them even more in the future!
We’ve also had the privilege of working with some amazing brands along the way! Autotrader, National Rail, Road Angel and GAME just to name a few!

We have been working incredibly closely together this year to help raise awareness in the importance of private practice during your learning journey. And finally, one of the most exciting and influential organisations that we have been able to work with is the DVSA. We have recently teamed up to help spread awareness about their ‘Ready to Pass’ campaign.

The future of our channel
Followers and milestones aside, the reason we do this and will continue to do so is to help as many of you as we can, get on your road to freedom. It makes our day when we receive messages saying that one of our videos helped you, or that you used our app to pass your Theory Test. None of them go unnoticed and we are forever grateful for your support.
